The NX500 is a 471cc motorcycle and requires prior experience on bigger bikes. It is not recommended for first-time riders or those who have only ridden scooters. The extra power, taller seat height (834mm), and weight (196kg) demand respect and confidence on the road.
Intermediate riders who are comfortable on manual motorcycles will find the NX500 very rewarding – its switchable traction control and predictable handling make it more accessible than many bikes in its class. If you are unsure, the Kawasaki Z300 is a lighter and more approachable starting point.
Honda RoadSync is a Bluetooth connectivity system built into the NX500. It allows you to pair your smartphone with the bike's 5" TFT display using the Honda RoadSync app.
Once connected, you can access turn-by-turn navigation, receive call and message notifications, and control music – all directly on the dashboard. No phone holder is needed on this bike – RoadSync replaces it entirely.

The NX500 is the most capable bike in our fleet and handles everything Koh Phangan has to offer. The coastal road from Thong Sala up to Chaloklum on the north coast is a pleasure on the NX500 – smooth tarmac, ocean views, and enough open stretches to enjoy the 471cc engine. The east coast road to Thong Nai Pan Noi is steep and winding but the NX500 handles it effortlessly, even with a passenger.
For riders who want to cover more ground, the full island loop in a day is very comfortable on the NX500 – something harder to do on a smaller bike.
The NX500 is a significantly more powerful bike – its 471cc parallel-twin produces considerably more power than the Z300's 296cc engine. The NX500 is also heavier at 196kg versus the Z300's 168kg, with a taller seat height of 834mm versus 785mm.
