Yes. The Click 125i Black 2019 is fully automatic, weighs just 110kg – the lightest in the fleet – and has a 769mm seat height. It is one of the easiest scooters to manage on Ko Phangan. The CBS braking system provides more balanced stopping than a single-channel setup. Riders with any prior scooter experience will adapt immediately.
For complete first-time riders, basic scooter familiarity is still needed. Note that CBS is not ABS – smooth, progressive braking is required, especially on Ko Phangan's wet roads and steeper descents.
No. The Click 125i Black 2019 does not have ABS. It has a Combined Brake System (CBS), which is different. CBS links the front and rear brakes for more balanced deceleration but does not prevent wheel lock under hard braking. Smooth, progressive braking is essential on Ko Phangan's wet roads, sandy beach approaches, and steep descents.
If front ABS is important, the Honda Click 160 ABS is available in the fleet at the same 30+ day rate.
The Click 125i Black 2019 and the Click 125i Blue share the same newer Click 125i generation in the fleet, with a fully digital instrument cluster and full LED lighting throughout. This is different from the Military and Black (2017), which use analog or analog-digital displays and an LED headlight only. The Black 2019's price reflects its mag wheels and tubeless tyres rather than a generation difference from the Blue.
The 125cc engine and mechanical specifications are broadly similar across the whole Click 125i range. If budget is the absolute priority, the Military and Black (2017) offer the same Honda platform at a lower daily rate.
CBS links the front and rear brakes. When you apply the rear brake pedal, the system automatically applies some braking force to the front wheel as well, distributing effort more evenly. This reduces the tendency to lock the rear wheel under normal braking and gives a more balanced deceleration feel.
CBS is not ABS. It does not intervene to prevent wheel lock under hard or sudden braking. It is a passive distribution system, not an anti-lock safety system. On Ko Phangan's wet roads and steep descents, smooth progressive braking is still essential regardless of CBS.
The Click 125i Black 2019 is best suited to Ko Phangan's main paved roads at a relaxed pace. The west coast from Thong Sala to Haad Yao, the south coast through Ban Tai to Haad Rin, and the north coast toward Chaloklum are all comfortable. The compact dimensions make it particularly well suited to the busier areas near Thong Sala and Haad Rin.
The east coast climb to Thong Nai Pan Noi is demanding at 125cc – manageable solo at a steady, patient pace. Two-up riding on the steep sections is not recommended. Stay on paved roads throughout and plan fuel stops carefully – the 4.2-litre tank has a limited range compared to the larger PCX models.
The Honda Click 125i Black 2019 belongs to the newer Click 125i generation in the Lala Agency fleet, alongside the Blue. Both replaced the older Military and Black (2017) generation with a fully digital instrument cluster and full LED lighting throughout, rather than the analog or analog-digital setups and LED-headlight-only lighting on the older models. It is the same proven 125cc platform, in its more current form.
What separates the Black 2019 from the Blue within this same generation is the wheel and tyre setup, covered in its own section below – not the year or the electronics, which are shared. Send a rental request →
At 110kg kerb weight the Click 125i Black 2019 is the lightest scooter available from Lala Agency – lighter than the PCX models, lighter than the Click 160, and lighter than the older Click 125i variants. On Ko Phangan this matters most at low speed and when manoeuvring: parking at Haad Rin beach on a busy full moon week, squeezing through Thong Sala traffic, or making a tight turn on a narrow mountain road all require noticeably less physical effort on a 110kg scooter than on anything heavier.
The 769mm seat height means most riders can get a foot flat on the ground at stops. The combination of low weight, compact dimensions, and manageable seat height makes the Click 125i Black 2019 the most physically accessible scooter in the fleet for shorter riders or those who want the most effortless daily riding experience on Ko Phangan.
The 2019 model's fully digital instrument cluster is one of the key differences from the older Click 125i variants in the fleet. Speed, fuel level, odometer, and trip meter are all displayed on a clean digital screen – clearer and more modern than the analog or analog-digital combinations on older Click 125i models. The display is readable in Ko Phangan's bright sunlight without difficulty.
Full LED lighting throughout – headlight, tail light, and indicators – provides a bright, clear beam for Ko Phangan's roads after dark and a longer service life than traditional bulbs. The LED headlight design on the 2019 model is updated compared to earlier Click 125i generations, giving the scooter a noticeably more contemporary front face on Ko Phangan's roads.
The Click 125i Black 2019 uses Honda's Combined Brake System (CBS) on both the front disc and rear drum. CBS is not ABS – it does not prevent wheel lock. What CBS does is link the front and rear brakes: when you apply the rear brake pedal, the system automatically activates some front braking force as well, distributing braking effort more evenly between both wheels. This reduces the tendency to over-brake at the rear and provides more balanced deceleration under normal riding conditions.
On Ko Phangan's roads, smooth and progressive braking input is still required at all times – particularly on wet roads after rain, on the sandy approaches to beach areas, and on the steep descents on the east and north coasts. CBS provides no protection against wheel lock. If front ABS is important, the Honda Click 160 ABS is available in the fleet.
The Click 125i Black 2019's 124.9cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine delivers the reliable, efficient performance the Click 125i range is known for across Southeast Asia. PGM-FI fuel injection ensures clean starting in Ko Phangan's heat and humidity without hesitation, and consistent throttle response throughout the day. The CVT automatic transmission handles all gear changes seamlessly.
At 125cc the engine is well-matched to Ko Phangan's flatter routes and everyday island riding. It is most at home on the west coast from Thong Sala to Haad Yao, the south coast to Haad Rin, and the relaxed north coast road toward Chaloklum. The 4.2-litre tank is small – plan fuel stops before heading to the more remote parts of the island. Use only Gasoline 95 as specified in the rental contract.
The Click 125i Black 2019 rolls on cast alloy "mag" wheels rather than the spoked wheels fitted to the Blue. Aside from the cleaner, more modern look, alloy wheels are lighter and hold their precise shape better than spokes after a hard pothole impact – relevant on some of Ko Phangan's rougher back roads near the northern beaches.
The solid, one-piece construction also means there are no spoke nipples to work loose or corrode in salty coastal air over time, which is a small but real maintenance advantage for a scooter that spends its life parked near Ko Phangan's beaches.
Paired with the mag wheels, the Black 2019 runs tubeless tyres front and rear. The main practical benefit over the Blue's tube-type setup is how a puncture behaves: a tubeless tyre that picks up a nail tends to lose air gradually, giving you time to reach a repair shop rather than being stranded with a sudden flat on the road to Chaloklum or Thong Nai Pan Noi.
Repairs are also quicker – a plug from the outside rather than removing the wheel to access an inner tube – which matters when the nearest roadside mechanic on Ko Phangan might be a short ride rather than a five-minute walk away.
Lift the seat on the Black 2019 and there is a properly useful storage compartment underneath – enough for a full-face helmet when parked up, a beach bag, or groceries from Thong Sala market. It is enclosed and weatherproof, which matters during Ko Phangan's sudden afternoon downpours.
Combined with the bike's light 110kg weight, the practical storage makes the Black 2019 an easy scooter to live with day to day – useful capacity without the bulk or handling compromise of an external top box.
